Metso to acquire Brazilian manufacturer Italbronze
Metso has signed an agreement to acquire Italbronze Ltda., a Brazilian manufacturer of bronze alloy components based in the São Paulo metropolitan area. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Metso’s crushing technology business and expand its manufacturing capabilities for aftermarket parts and services.
Italbronze has been a supplier to Metso for over 30 years. The deal is expected to incorporate approximately 470 workers into Metso, bringing specialized expertise in bronze alloy manufacturing, machining, and quality control. The move aims to increase supply chain resilience and ensure the availability of critical components for mining and industrial customers globally.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to approval from competition authorities. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Metso stated it does not expect a significant impact on its financial performance.
