Metso to supply equipment for Australia’s Yitirrti project

Metso has been awarded orders by GR Engineering Services (GRES) to provide minerals processing technology for Develop Global’s Yitirrti project in Western Australia. The Yitirrti project, formerly known as Sulphur Springs, is a high-grade copper, zinc, and silver deposit located in the Pilbara region.

The processing plant is expected to have a capacity of approximately 1.5 million tonnes per annum and is currently progressing toward pre-production. Metso’s scope includes the design, manufacture, testing, and delivery of process technology for the concentrator. The equipment package features Nordberg C Series jaw crushers, Nordberg HP450e cone crushers, an apron feeder, TankCell flotation cells, thickeners, Stirred Media Detritor (SMD) regrind mills, and slurry analyzers.

Metso intends to support the project through its Karratha Service Centre to provide ongoing aftermarket support once the facility moves into operation.
