Mettmann opens ‘Halloween-Haus’ labyrinth and Movie Park launches horror festival

In Mettmann, Germany, a residential area has transformed into a spooky attraction known as the ‘Halloween-Haus’. Organized by Maurice Giebisch, the labyrinth features decorations, lighting effects, artificial fog, and volunteer performers. The event is free to the public, with Giebisch collecting donations for ‘Lichtblicke’, an organization supporting families and children in need.

To accommodate the large scale of the setup, the attraction begins weeks before October 31. The site is open from Thursday to Sunday, between 19:00 and 22:00, with live performers appearing on Fridays and Saturdays. Local authorities have advised visitors to use nearby sports facility parking and have announced temporary road closures on ‘Am Krumbach’ for the Halloween peak.

In a separate regional event, Movie Park Germany in Bottrop has launched its 28th annual Halloween Horror Festival. Running through November 8, the festival includes nine horror mazes, such as the new ‘Jason Universe’ themed attraction. The park also offers a ‘Halloween for Kids’ zone in Nickelodeon LAND for visitors seeking a less intense experience.
