Metz man prosecuted for animal cruelty after stabbing dog nine times

A 47-year-old man is facing prosecution for animal cruelty in the Metz-Borny district of France after stabbing a Malinois dog nine times. The incident occurred late on a Saturday evening, witnessed by a neighbor who alerted authorities.

The suspect admitted to the attacks, claiming the dog had previously bitten him. According to prosecutor David Touvet, the dog sustained eight stab wounds to its neck but is currently alive and in stable condition.

In addition to the primary suspect, police detained three adults. A second individual faces charges of rebellion for resisting arrest, while the woman involved is not being prosecuted. The main suspect faces up to three years in prison and a fine of up to 45,000 euros.
