Metz prosecutor closes sexual assault investigation involving police officer

An investigation in Metz regarding allegations of sexual assault against a police officer has been closed due to an absence of an offense. The case originated from a video circulated on social media during high school mobilizations in early October, which appeared to show an officer in plain clothes touching the hair and chest of a 14-year-old girl following her detention.

Metz Public Prosecutor David Touvet confirmed the decision to drop the procedure. During questioning, the teenager denied experiencing any acts of violence or sexual assault.

The officer has filed a complaint for public defamation against a public authority. This secondary investigation remains ongoing, as the actions may be classified as defamation via electronic communication and cyberbullying.
