Mexant Otogo Ongo appointed director of Bitam Departmental Hospital

Mexant Otogo Ongo, an ophthalmology surgeon with over three decades of medical experience, has been officially installed as the new director of the Bitam Departmental Hospital in Gabon’s Woleu-Ntem province.

The installation ceremony was led by the interim Prefect of Ntem, Blaise Ondo Obiang, and attended by regional health officials, including the Northern Regional Director of Health, Marie Paulette Nguema Abaga Engozogo. During the proceedings, authorities urged the new director to demonstrate professionalism, rigor, and a commitment to patient care.

Otogo Ongo faces several key challenges, including the modernization of medical equipment to improve care quality and reduce the need for patients to seek medical services in neighboring countries. His priorities also include strengthening cohesion between hospital services and ensuring the effective management of clinical and administrative activities.
