MEXC and Payward discuss crypto and TradFi convergence at TOKEN2049
During a panel at the TOKEN2049 event in Singapore, executives from MEXC and Payward, the parent company of Kraken, discussed the increasing convergence between cryptocurrency and traditional finance (TradFi).
MEXC CEO Vugar Usi Zade noted that blockchain infrastructure is disrupting traditional market structures characterized by fixed trading hours. He predicted that within the next five years, the industry will move toward a singular platform where various asset classes and investments can be traded seamlessly, driven largely by retail demand.
Payward Co-CEO Arjun Sethi emphasized the necessity of collaboration to scale global trading platforms. He suggested that serving a larger global user base requires partnerships with companies like MEXC to leverage their specific market strengths. Sethi also highlighted the infrastructure challenges associated with 24/7 trading, specifically regarding the consolidation of assets and collateral in a connected financial environment.
