MEXC crypto app removed from Google Play Store in Philippines
The MEXC cryptocurrency trading application has been removed from the Google Play Store in the Philippines. This follows the platform’s prior removal from Apple’s App Store in the same region.
While existing users with the application already installed can still access the app, they are now blocked from receiving official updates through major mobile storefronts. Search queries for the platform on the Google Play Store currently redirect users to local licensed exchanges or self-custody wallets.
The delisting occurs amid an ongoing enforcement campaign by the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). It remains unclear whether the removal was a voluntary action by MEXC to mitigate regulatory liability or a forced removal by Google. This action follows similar regulatory pressures previously faced by other offshore entities such as Binance, Bybit, OKX, and Bitget.
