MEXC intercepts 38.66 million USDT in risk-related funds

MEXC has released its July–August 2026 security report, detailing the successful interception of 215 reports involving risk-related funds. These intercepted funds, totaling approximately 38.66 million USDT, were linked to external theft or fraud. This represents a significant increase in both the number of cases and the value of funds intercepted compared to the previous reporting period.

The report notes that the platform's Futures Insurance Fund has reached 792 million USDT, and reserve ratios for BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC remain above 100%.

On a broader scale, the crypto industry recorded 184 security incidents during this period, with losses totaling roughly $535 million. Phishing, fraud, and supply-chain security incidents accounted for about 48% of these losses. The report also highlighted a trend of attackers utilizing AI to automate phishing content and malware generation.
