Mexicali and Tijuana sewage and cleanup projects to serve over 126,000 residents

The State Public Services Commission of Mexicali (CESPM) is rebuilding a box-type well in the Colector Sur system at the intersection of Venecia Street and Quintana Roo Avenue in the Wisteria colonia. The work, now 20 % complete, aims to restore the sewer collector that serves more than 118,000 people in the city and includes excavation, demolition of damaged elements and reconstruction with more durable materials.

Separately, municipal crews in Tijuana collected more than 52 tonnes of heavy trash across the La Presa Este, La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez and Cerro Colorado districts. The operation, part of the “Tijuana: Clean City” program, benefited roughly 8,500 residents by removing debris, pruning trees and repainting public walls.

Both initiatives are funded by local authorities and are intended to improve sanitation, reduce health risks and enhance the quality of life for residents of Baja California.
