Spain police dismantle drug trafficking networks in Algeciras and Palma

Spanish authorities have conducted several major operations targeting drug trafficking networks across the country. In Algeciras, the Guardia Civil launched Operation Uroboros, resulting in the arrest of 18 individuals. Notably, eight of those detained are port stevedores who allegedly used their authorized access to container terminals to facilitate the extraction of cocaine. This investigation has linked to the seizure of approximately 139.28 kilograms of cocaine.

In Palma, the National Police dismantled two highly active drug sales points in the Foners neighborhood. The operation led to the arrest of three men and two women after investigators monitored high volumes of consumer traffic at two adjacent properties. Authorities seized cash, distribution tools, a machete, and marijuana prepared in single doses for sale.

Other regional enforcement actions included the interception of a postal package in Linares containing over four kilograms of marijuana and hashish destined for Ibiza, leading to arrests in the Balearic Islands. Additionally, in Algeciras, a specialized police dog named Shanel assisted in discovering 545 grams of cocaine hidden in a vehicle compartment during a routine highway control.
