Mexicali City Gallery Opens Expresión Plástica Cachanilla 2026 Exhibition

On June 20, 2026, the Secretariat of Culture of Baja California inaugurated the collective exhibition "Expresión Plástica Cachanilla 2026" at the Galería de la Ciudad in Mexicali, coinciding with the gallery's 48th anniversary.

The show features works by 71 individual artists and two local collectives, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, graphic art, ceramics, textile art, installation and object art. Director of Museums and Galleries Daril Fortis said the exhibition provides an opportunity to recognize the local artistic community and reinforces the gallery's role as an open space for creators and the public.

Founded in 1978, the Galería de la Ciudad has long promoted visual arts in Baja California through exhibitions, training activities and projects. The exhibition will remain open to the public, free of charge, daily from 10:00 to 18:00 until August 21, 2026, at Avenida Álvaro Obregón No. 1209, Colonia Segunda.
