Mexicali crackdown targets Sinaloa cartel sites and ex‑police gunman

State security forces in Mexicali, Baja California, located two properties linked to a Sinaloa Cartel faction. In the Reacomodo neighborhood, a house used for small‑scale drug dealing was seized, and a stolen Jeep from California was recovered. Later, a second home in Valle Dorado was raided, yielding three long guns, ballistic vests and psychotropic substances, which will be examined for links to recent attacks on state agents.

Separately, authorities arrested former municipal police officer Juan Israel “N,” 41, in the Quintas del Rey subdivision after finding him armed with a firearm. Investigators tied him to the La Mayiza faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, which operates under the group known as Los Rusos. He has been transferred to the federal prosecutor for further investigation.
