Mexicali to host ‘Insects: Extinct and Endangered’ exhibition
The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) is bringing the exhibition ‘Insects: Extinct and Endangered’ to Mexicali, Mexico. The showcase will open on Thursday, August 27, at 5:00 p.m. at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) Campus Mexicali.
Curated by Dr. David Grimaldi, the exhibition features macro-photographs by Levon Biss. The collection highlights the vital role insects play in global ecosystems while warning of the extinction risks they face. Featured specimens include the pygmy wasp moth, the Patagonian giant bumblebee, and the blue calamint bee.
The exhibition is a collaborative effort between the AMNH and the UABC through its General Coordination of Cultural Extension and Science Dissemination. Admission to the event is free to the public, with operating hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
