Mexican Air Force Black Hawk crashes in Durango
A Mexican Air Force UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter crashed during takeoff maneuvers at the El Salto Regional Training Center in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo, Durango.
According to reports from the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional, the aircraft experienced a sudden loss of engine power while attempting to ascend. This loss of power caused the pilot to lose control, leading the helicopter to strike trees before hitting the ground. The crash did not result in any explosions or fires.
Seven military personnel were on board the aircraft at the time of the incident. All crew members survived and were treated by military medical personnel for minor contusions; no life-threatening injuries were reported. The Commission for Investigating and Determining Air Accidents has been activated to conduct a formal investigation into the mechanical failure or environmental factors that caused the crash.
