Mexican authorities arrest Sinaloa Cartel financial operator in Mexicali

Mexican federal authorities arrested Salvador ‘N’, an alleged financial operator for the ‘Los Chapitos’ faction of the Sinaloa Cartel, in Mexicali near the United States border. Identified as a member of the ‘Los Rusos’ group, the suspect is linked to a criminal network recently found in possession of four million doses of fentanyl.

Mexican Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch stated the arrest resulted from intelligence work by the National Intelligence Center in cooperation with U.S. authorities. Salvador ‘N’ is reportedly under financial investigation by Mexico’s Financial Intelligence Unit and has been designated by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for his alleged role in a money laundering network tied to the Sinaloa Cartel.

The U.S. Northern Command and the DEA highlighted the operation as a success of bilateral intelligence and financial analysis. Officials emphasized that continued cooperation between the administrations of President Donald Trump and President Claudia Sheinbaum aims to dismantle the financial structures that sustain organized crime.
