Mexican authorities arrest suspected Gulf Cartel financial operator
Mexican authorities conducted a large-scale operation on September 24 and 25, resulting in the arrest of Jesús Manuel N., alias ‘Bebo’, a suspected financial operator for the ‘Los Metros’ faction of the Gulf Cartel. The operation, carried out by Mexican Army Special Forces, the National Guard, and the Attorney General's Office (FGR), spanned the states of Chihuahua, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas.
Authorities allege that ‘Bebo’ managed financial flows related to the illegal importation of hydrocarbons and worked under the orders of César N., alias ‘Primito’. The coordinated effort included 19 search warrants and led to the seizure of significant assets, including 13 properties, two aircraft, 50 vehicles, 107 tank trailers, and 84 tractor-trailers.
Additional seized items included 49 garbage trucks, 11 fuel pumps, four fixed storage tanks, and approximately 500,000 liters of fuel. Law enforcement also recovered 1.3 kilograms of methamphetamine, 219 cartridges, seven motorcycles, and various amounts of cash. The three detainees have been placed at the disposal of the FGR for further investigation.
