Carlos Iván “N” arrested in Sonora for DEA-requested drug trafficking charges

Carlos Iván “N”, known as “El Chore,” a 38-year-old operator for the criminal group “Los Gigios,” has been arrested in Hermosillo, Sonora. The capture was the result of a coordinated operation involving the Sonora State Attorney General's Office (FGJES), the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR), and INTERPOL.

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requested his extradition to face charges of conspiracy to import fentanyl and methamphetamine into the United States. Authorities identify “Los Gigios” as a criminal organization involved in cross-border drug trafficking.

Following the execution of the provisional detention order for extradition purposes, the suspect was transferred to FGR facilities in Hermosillo. He will be moved to Mexico City to enter a Federal Center for Social Reintegration (Cefereso) while the legal and diplomatic processes for his transfer to U.S. justice are finalized.
