Mexican authorities coordinate pyrotechnics safety and environmental regulations

In Acapulco, Mayor Leticia Lozano Zavala led a coordination meeting with military commanders and government authorities to manage pyrotechnics risks ahead of national holiday celebrations. The initiative aims to strengthen institutional supervision regarding the handling, storage, and commercialization of gunpowder products to prevent accidents.

Military Commander Antonio Melchor Ruiz of the 27th Military Zone noted that the coordination will establish a joint work route to ensure legal compliance and inspect authorized sales spaces. Authorities also urged citizens to report irregular distribution of pyrotechnics.

In Saltillo, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development has reinforced regulations regarding tree removal and transplantation. Director Emmanuel Olache Valdez stated that developers and businesses must notify authorities before any removal to undergo field inspections and determine the required environmental compensation based on species and size. The municipality emphasizes that compensation is intended to repair the loss of environmental services rather than just planting new specimens.
