Mexican authorities detain police officers and gang members in anti‑crime operations
In Michoacán, eight municipal police officers—including the municipal security director—were arrested on June 11 for alleged drug trafficking, bribery and possible ties to the Jalisco New Generation cartel. Their detention follows investigations into an ambush in Nahuatzen that left five state police dead and five injured.
In Chihuahua, state security forces captured 15 suspected members of the criminal organization “La Empresa” on June 10. The operation is part of a broader offensive launched after a January attack that killed a state agent. Authorities link La Empresa to former gangs Los Aztecas and Los Mexicles and accuse it of drug dealing and violent crimes in Ciudad Juárez.
