Mexican authorities detain violent criminals in Zacatecas and Oaxaca
In Zacatecas, a coordinated operation by state forces, the Mexican Army, National Guard and the state prosecutor’s office captured a prison escapee from Ixtapa and nine others. The raid, which sparked a gunfight, resulted in the seizure of thousands of drug doses, firearms, improvised explosives and the rescue of two minors. Among those detained was Miguel Ángel N., wanted on a homicide warrant.
In Oaxaca de Juárez, agents of the Federal Investigation Agency arrested a suspect linked to a series of "cristalazo" robberies after he attempted to flee along the Atoyac River. The individual was taken into custody and handed over to the public prosecutor for further investigation.
Both incidents illustrate continued law‑enforcement actions against organized crime and street robbery in Mexico.
