Mexican authorities dismantle CJNG cell in Manzanillo port
State and federal forces in Mexico carried out a coordinated operation at the port of Manzanillo, Colima, targeting a criminal cell of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) known as “Jalipa.” Two separate interventions, involving the Secretaría de Marina, state police, the Federal Attorney General’s Office and the State Attorney General’s Office, resulted in the arrest of six suspected sicarios and the seizure of high‑calibre firearms and ammunition. The detainees, identified as Pedro (38), Diego (29), Carlos Alberto (22), Efrén Alejandro (20), Aylín Viridiana (19) and Jesús Osvaldo (22), were placed under the jurisdiction of the state prosecutor. Authorities described the Jalipa cell as a major generator of violence in the region, noting that the operation, which deployed more than 4,400 federal personnel, weakens the cartel’s operational capacity in the strategic port area.
