Mexican authorities intervene in multiple cases involving minors

Authorities in Mexico have intervened in several cases involving minors in Ecatepec and Tampico. In Ecatepec, local police located three minors who had left their homes under various circumstances. One 12-year-old boy was found after receiving a call from unknown individuals claiming to hold his mother hostage; the police intervened and reunited him with his family. A seven-year-old boy was also located by police after wandering away from his home in Potrero del Rey. Additionally, a 13-year-old from Tlalnepantla was found in the Altavilla neighborhood; while he initially cited family violence, the situation was later identified as a dispute over household chores.

In Tampico, the DIF Tampico system placed a 17-year-old girl and her three-year-old daughter into a shelter. The decision followed an intervention by the State Guard after the teenager was found on a public road. An inspection by social workers and legal staff determined that their residence lacked the necessary safety and hygiene conditions for habitation. The two are receiving medical, nutritional, and psychological support while investigations into their family situation continue.
