Mexican authorities manage separate incidents of official detentions

In Veracruz, judicial officials from the Minatitlán Family Court were detained for over an hour by residents of Pajapan. The group was attempting to execute a court order to change the residence of a minor following allegations of child abuse. The community intercepted the officials, preventing the legal procedure from being completed. The officials were eventually released without major incidents, and authorities are investigating the circumstances of the detention.

In Oaxaca, the state government is negotiating with authorities in San Dionisio Ocotepec for the release of Antonio Monterrubio, a state police officer held by community vigilantes since Saturday. The detention occurred following a disagreement during a security operation intended to address local robberies. Government Secretary Jesús Romero López stated that while the detention is illegal, the state is working to resolve the situation through dialogue, noting that the community has requested a public apology from the officers involved.
