Mexican authorities propose and recommend measures for inclusive education
In the State of Mexico, the Movimiento Ciudadano parliamentary group has proposed an initiative to strengthen inclusive education. The proposal aims to identify learning barriers, provide teacher training, and improve coordination between schools and families. It seeks to guarantee the rights of minors with intellectual, psychosocial, or neurodevelopmental disabilities without requiring a clinical diagnosis for support.
In Nuevo León, the State Human Rights Commission (CEDHNL) has issued recommendations to the Ministry of Education to address discriminatory practices against students with disabilities. Investigations revealed human rights violations involving children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions, including cases of denied enrollment and instances where a student's continued attendance was conditioned on the family hiring a private shadow teacher.
