Mexican authorities raid rehabilitation centers in Baja California and Querétaro

Authorities in Mexico have conducted separate operations against rehabilitation centers in Baja California and Querétaro.

In Mexicali, Baja California, the Jireh Rehabilitation Clinic, operated by Patrulla Espiritual, was temporarily suspended following an inspection by the State Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (COEPRIS). Officials reported that the facility lacked proper documentation, failed to follow patient consent protocols, and lacked a formal mental health program. The Institute of Psychiatry of the State of Baja California (IPEBC) coordinated the transfer of 74 patients to the Fountain of Hope center, which meets the necessary regulatory requirements.

In Querétaro, the State Attorney General's Office executed a search warrant at a rehabilitation center in the Loma Bonita neighborhood as part of the ‘Sinergia por Querétaro’ strategy. The operation, which included the Mexican Army and local police, resulted in the arrest of six individuals. During the raid, investigators seized documentation and computer equipment. Two victims and three witnesses were identified and processed by ministerial personnel, with the victims being moved to a secure location for protection.
