Taxco officials arrested for alleged forced disappearance

Four municipal officials in Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero, have been detained by the Guerrero State Attorney General's Office (FGE Guerrero) for their alleged involvement in a forced disappearance. The detainees include Ricardo “N”, director of the Command and Control Center (C2); José “N”, a C2 monitor; and Gabriel “N” and Olga “N”, members of the Municipal Preventive Police.

Investigations indicate the individuals are allegedly linked to the criminal group La Familia Michoacana. The incident occurred on September 29, 2026, when a victim was forcibly taken into a vehicle in central Taxco. Authorities allege that Gabriel “N” and Olga “N” ordered the removal of municipal transit officers from the scene, while Ricardo “N” and José “N” were instructed to omit reporting the incident to security agencies to facilitate the disappearance.

These arrests bring the total number of Taxco municipal officials detained for kidnapping and forced disappearance to six, including José Carlos “N”, director of Regulations, and Gerónimo “N”, a municipal police officer.
