Mexican authorities seize Mazatlán bar linked to disappearance case
Federal agencies, including the Attorney General's Office (FGR), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the National Guard, have seized the ‘Terraza Valentino’ commercial establishment in the Golden Zone of Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The venue is identified as the last location where Carlos Emilio Galván Valenzuela was seen before his disappearance on October 5, 2025.
Brenda Valenzuela Gil, the victim's mother, described the seizure as a significant but overdue step toward justice. She has called for rigorous investigations that do not overlook individuals with political influence. The investigation involves potential links to organized crime and deprivation of liberty, specifically pointing toward actors associated with the business group of the premises, including former state official Ricardo ‘Pity’ Velarde.
The case is being handled by federal authorities under investigations related to organized crime and kidnapping.
