Mexican authorities seize stolen US vehicles with weapons and sentence gun carrier in San Luis Potosí

In San Luis Potosí, a federal judge sentenced Jonathan “N” to five years and eight months in prison for illegal possession of a military‑grade long gun, also imposing a fine of 16,065.88 pesos. He was arrested by state civil guards in the municipality of El Naranjo while driving an unregistered vehicle and found with a loaded long‑firearm, 23 cartridges and a portable radio.

Separately, state police in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, seized two vehicles reported stolen in the United States. One vehicle contained a high‑power long gun without markings, ammunition, a ballistic vest and loaded magazines; the other was found abandoned at a supermarket parking lot. Both vehicles and the weapons were handed over to the federal prosecutor’s office.
