Mexican authorities urge immediate reporting of violence and missing persons

In San Luis Potosí, the State Attorney General's Office has urged the public to report any domestic violence, particularly when children or adolescents are at risk. Reports can be handled by the Specialized Prosecutor for Women, Family, and Sexual Crimes or through regional delegations to ensure victim protection.

Regarding missing persons, officials in both San Luis Potosí and Yucatán are clarifying that there is no required waiting period, such as 24 or 72 hours, before filing a report. In Yucatán, the Local Search Commission accepts reports 24 hours a day, and the process can be initiated by family members or authorities without a prior formal complaint to the Prosecutor's Office. Providing detailed physical descriptions, clothing, and medical needs immediately is considered vital for effective search operations.
