Santo Domingo Metro extends service hours for Central American and Caribbean Games
The Empresa Metropolitana de Transporte (EMT) announced that both the Metro and the Teleférico in Santo Domingo will operate on an extended schedule from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. between 3 and 8 August 2026. The change is intended to accommodate the increased passenger demand generated by the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games. Athletes, accredited volunteers and officials will travel for free on the Metro and Teleférico, and users of designated parking areas can also board the Metro at no charge. The extended hours are part of a broader mobility plan to ensure smooth, safe transport to the various competition venues across the Greater Santo Domingo area during the regional sporting event.
