Mexican boxer William Zepeda wins WBC lightweight title

William “Camarón” Zepeda captured the vacant WBC lightweight championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, defeating American contender Lamont Roach Jr. by unanimous decision. The judges scored the bout 117‑111, 117‑111 and 118‑110, giving Zepeda a clear victory and improving his record to 34‑1 with 27 knockouts.

After the win, Zepeda was greeted by a large crowd of fans and media at Mexico City International Airport, where he displayed the green‑and‑gold WBC belt.
