Mexican Caribbean targets luxury tourism at Virtuoso Travel Week

The Mexican Caribbean is positioning itself as a premier destination for luxury tourism through its participation as a sponsor of Virtuoso Travel Week 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Held from August 8 to 14, the event is a major global gathering for the luxury travel industry, bringing together travel advisors, agencies, and leading suppliers.

Represented by the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council (CPTQ) and its director, Andrés Martínez, the delegation held over 150 individual 1:1 meetings to present the diverse offerings of the state's 12 tourist destinations to strategic international partners.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy led by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa to diversify visitor markets and attract high-net-worth travelers. The goal is to encourage longer stays and higher spending in sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and specialized wellness experiences, ultimately aiming to generate shared prosperity and improved economic conditions for the local workforce in Quintana Roo.
