Mexican cities host weekly recreational and community service programs
Municipalities in Mexico are hosting weekly recreational programs to promote community engagement and public health.
In Cancun, the 44th edition of Paseo Cancunense took place at Malecón Tajamar. The event, supported by the Urban Development Planning Institute (IMPLAN), provides a safe space for walking, cycling, and skating. The initiative also includes a platform for local entrepreneurs through the ‘Ellas Facturan’ program, featuring various artisanal and vegan products. A nocturnal version of the event is also held monthly.
In Saltillo, the Ruta Recreativa on Venustiano Carranza Boulevard offers residents opportunities for physical activity alongside essential services. The municipal government provides free medical consultations, including diabetes and hypertension screenings, as well as veterinary services such as rabies vaccinations and deworming. Local security forces also participate to foster community trust through interactive activities.
