Chihuahua State Issues Heat Warning as Temperatures Near 40°C

The State Civil Protection Coordination (CEPC) has issued a preventive alert for extreme heat across Chihuahua. Forecasts predict maximum temperatures of up to 40 °C in municipalities such as Juárez, Ojinaga, Chínipas, Chihuahua, Janos, Camargo, Delicias, Temósachic, Jiménez, Parral, Cuauhtémoc, Madera, Guachochi, Bocoyna and Balleza, with a high risk of heat‑related illness. The agency warns residents to avoid solar exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., stay hydrated, protect children, the elderly and those with health conditions, and drive cautiously in rain‑affected areas. The 9‑1‑1 emergency line remains operational 24 hours. A separate notice for Ciudad Juárez advises that temperatures could reach 42 °C on Sunday, humidity will fall to 27 % and a small chance of isolated showers exists, reinforcing the same precautions.

The alerts aim to prevent heat stroke, dehydration and accidents, urging the public to follow official channels for updates.
