Mexican clubs Tigres and Pumas line up key player moves for Apertura 2026

Tigres forward Ángel Correa is reported to be close to leaving the Mexican side for Argentine club River Plate. Tigres set a $15 million release clause, but River is expected to make an offer of $13 million and begin negotiations, amid tension over Tigres’ claim that River negotiated with the player before the club.

Pumas have added 18‑year‑old Julio César Domínguez Jr., the son of former Cruz Azul star Cata Domínguez, to their first‑team roster for the Apertura 2026. The young winger/attacking‑midfielder is eligible to debut if coach Esteban Solari decides to give him minutes, after previously winning a Sub‑17 title with Pumas in 2025.
