Mexican coach Efraín Juárez appointed head of Hungary's Gyori ETO

Mexican manager Efraín Juárez left the Pumas of Liga MX this summer to become head coach of Gyori ETO FC in Hungary. He oversaw his first pre‑season friendly with the club and is targeting qualification for the upcoming Champions League qualifying round. Gyori ETO will meet Vikingur Reykjavík of Iceland in a two‑legged tie on 7 and 14 July, with the possibility of dropping into the Europa League or Conference League if they do not progress.

Juárez brings European experience from assistant roles at Belgium’s Standard Liège and Club Brugge, and a successful spell as head coach of Atlético Nacional in Colombia, where he won the league and cup. He also guided Pumas through three tournaments, returning them to the Liga MX front page before seeking a new challenge in Europe.
