Mexican community programs promote emotional education and addiction prevention
Municipal authorities in Cuautla, Morelos, have launched the “Conociendo mis emociones” workshop as part of the Escuela Segura program. Aimed at primary school students, the initiative focuses on emotional recognition and management to foster healthy coexistence in schools and homes. This activity is a component of the Plan Cuautla, a crime prevention strategy promoted by Mayor Salvador Molina Martínez.
In Yucatán, Cepredey and Save the Children are coordinating a community immersion strategy in Hunukú, Temozón. From November 9 to 14, approximately 849 students and 36 teachers across seven educational centers will participate in activities designed to prevent addictions and promote responsible social media use. The program also emphasizes emotional development and aims to identify local risk factors through direct community engagement.
