Mexican Court Orders Publication of Labor Creditor Lists for AHMSA and Minosa
The Second District Court in Commercial Insolvency ordered the syndic of Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) and Minera del Norte (Minosa) to immediately publish the final list of preferential and non‑preferential labor credits for workers recognized as labor creditors in the companies' insolvency proceedings. Judge Ruth Haggi Huerta García instructed that the list be posted on the website of the Federal Institute of Specialists in Commercial Insolvency (IFECOM) and that the Federal Public Defender’s Office coordinate with delegations in Mexico City, Coahuila, Zacatecas, Chihuahua and Durango to make the information accessible.
The court granted a ten‑business‑day extension for verification that the lists are available online, stating that this extension does not affect any proposed sale of the companies nor halt the ongoing process. Payment to preferential creditors—namely the workers—requires available resources first. All parties were urged to refrain from disseminating unofficial information that could cause confusion or uncertainty.
