Mexican criminal group allegations surface in Ukraine conflict video
Authorities are investigating the origin of a 24-second video circulating on social media that appears to show individuals with ties to Mexican criminal organizations in the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The footage depicts at least nine people in a forested area wearing tactical gear, including helmets and backpacks. During the recording, one individual makes verbal references to “La Chapiza” and the “Jalisco New Generation Cartel,” using common slang associated with these groups. However, the video does not provide a specific date, exact location, or evidence of active combat, making it impossible to confirm through the footage alone if the recording took place in Ukrainian territory.
The circulation of this video has renewed previous allegations made by the Russian Embassy in Mexico, which claimed that the United States has been recruiting members of Mexican and Colombian cartels to fight in Ukraine.
