Mexican culinary traditions highlighted through new flavors and local festivals
In celebration of Mexican national holidays, various culinary traditions are being highlighted through new products and local festivals. Helados Holanda has introduced two new ice cream flavors inspired by traditional Mexican sweets: Cajeta and Mazapán. The Cajeta flavor features milk-based ice cream with caramel swirls, while the Mazapán flavor draws on the cultural evolution of the almond and cocoa-based confection.
Additionally, the 23rd Tamal and Atole Fair will take place in Ciudad Hidalgo, Michoacán, from September 14 to 16. The event will feature traditional flavors such as meat and chicken, alongside innovative options like coconut, chocolate, cajeta, lemon, blackberry, and pineapple. Organizer María del Rosario will debut “intergalactic tamales” at the festival. The event aims to support the local economy by offering accessible prices for tamales and atole, alongside musical performances including Mariachi and regional Mexican music.
