Mexican cumbia artists expand international reach

Mexican cumbia artists are expanding their international presence through major performances and collaborations. The group Los Ángeles Azules is currently conducting their ‘Cumbia Sin Fronteras 2026’ tour across Mexico and the United States. Following their participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026 festivities, the group released ‘Por Ella’, a collaboration with Belinda that is part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album. They are also scheduled to perform at the Auditorio Nacional on November 20 and 21.

Additionally, the Mexico City-based trio TREX is gaining recognition within the urban cumbia genre. After representing Mexico at Viña del Mar 2025, the group, consisting of members Romano, Moisés, and Mauricio, has released tracks such as ‘K-Paz’ and a cover titled ‘Murmullos Descuidados’ on major digital platforms.
