Mexican rider Isaac del Toro wins Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes 2026

Isaac del Toro of the UAE Team Emirates secured overall victory in the 78th Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes, the former Critérium du Dauphiné, staged in the French Alps. Starting the final stage from Beaufort to the Plateau de Solaison he erased a 49‑second deficit to Australian leader Luke Tuckwell, launching a decisive attack nine kilometres from the summit and finishing 54 seconds ahead. Spanish rider Juan Ayuso completed the podium, 1 minute 17 seconds back, while French rider Paul Seixas abandoned after a crash. The win marked del Toro’s third WorldTour stage‑race triumph this season after the Tirreno‑Adriatico and the UAE Tour, confirming his return to top form following a muscle tear that forced him out of the Basque Country race earlier in the year. At 22 years old, he will ride as a lieutenant for Tadej Pogačar in the upcoming Tour de France.
