Mexico dominates UCI Gravel World Series in Arteaga

Mexican cyclists dominated the UCI Gravel World Series 2026 held in the mountains of Arteaga, Coahuila. The event marked the first time the state hosted an official international gravel cycling date sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

In the Elite Men's category of the 132-kilometer Gran Fondo, Ulises Castillo took first place with a time of 4 hours, 16 minutes, and 15 seconds. He led an all-Mexican podium, followed by José Antonio Prieto in second and Ángel Camacho in third. In the Elite Women's category, Ana Barrera secured first place with a time of 5 hours, 8 minutes, and 1 second, ahead of Sara Roel and Fabiola Tucci.

The competition featured various distances, including the 85-kilometer Medio Fondo and the 32-kilometer Ride. Top performers earned national championship status and secured spots for the Gravel Cycling World Championships in Australia.
