Mexican educational and civic initiatives announced in EDINBA and Coahuila

The Escuela de Diseño (EDINBA), part of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), will host the colloquium-exhibition ‘Visiones prospectivas’ on September 1, 2026, at the CENART Library of the Arts. Students from the 2025-2026 Multimedia Design specialty will present research and projects using visual, digital, and interactive resources. Key projects include ‘Cartografía(s) sensible(s) del Canal Nacional’ regarding local memory, ‘Eco’ focusing on retirement savings, ‘Acuache’ promoting reading for children, and ‘Finanzas Chinamperas,’ a video game for personal finance management. Other topics include grief support, autism wellness, and labor rights.

In Coahuila, the State Congress has signed a collaboration agreement with InspiraCoahuila, the Ministry of Education, and electoral institutes to launch the ‘Parlamento Infantil Coahuila 2026.’ This initiative invites fourth to sixth-grade elementary students to present proposals on technology, the environment, health, and culture. The program aims to allow children to propose ideas on matters of public interest while learning about the functions and duties of local deputies.
