Mexican Federal Forces Detain Suspects After Armed Confrontation Near Pericos, Sinaloa

Federal agents from the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana pursued a suspicious vehicle on Highway 15 south of Mocorito, resulting in an armed exchange at the Pericos crossing. Two men were captured, seized firearms were recovered, and they were taken to Culiacán for investigation. The incident may be linked to the recent theft of two Bachoco trucks on the same highway.

In a separate operation in Mocorito, state police, the National Guard, the army and other agencies stopped a motorcyclist carrying a pistol, ammunition, and about 112 grams of crystal meth. The individual was arrested, the weapons and drugs were confiscated, and the case was forwarded to the relevant authorities.
