Mexican Football Federation celebrates 99 years with race and new mascot

The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) celebrated its 99th anniversary with a series of events in Toluca and Metepec, marking the beginning of the countdown to its centenary in 2027.

In Metepec, the organization held the “Pasión que Corre 2026” race at the Bicentenario Environmental Park. The five-kilometer competition featured both male and female categories. In the women's division, María José Colín Alcántara took first place, while Emmanuel Guadalupe Ramírez Valdez led the men's division.

At the FMF offices in Toluca, Commissioner Mikel Arriola and Mexico National Team head coach Rafael Márquez joined staff to commemorate the institution's history. During the event, the Federation officially introduced Tlachi, its new mascot designed to strengthen the connection between the national teams and the Mexican fanbase.
