Mexican forces neutralize 233 kg explosives near Aguascalientes‑Zacatecas border

Security forces in Mexico secured and neutralized more than 200 kilograms of explosive material—officially 233 kg—found in the community of Zacatequillas, located on the border of Aguascalientes and Zacatecas.

The operation was triggered by a 911 call reporting armed persons at the intersection of state highway 210. Units from the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Force (FRIZ), the Mexican Army, the National Guard and investigators from the state prosecutor’s office responded, discovered several bags covered with sawdust, cables and antennas, and temporarily closed the road. Specialized army personnel disarmed the explosives, seized the material for processing and prevented any potential harm to civilians or the nearby railway line. No arrests were made.
