Mexican Government Disburses 1.8 Billion Pesos to Families in Hidalgo After October Floods
The federal government, in coordination with the state of Hidalgo, handed out more than 1.802 billion pesos directly to households hit by extraordinary rainstorms caused by a monsoon trough in early October 2025. A three‑stage response – immediate assistance, a welfare census, and delivery of cash and in‑kind support – identified needs in 23,358 homes across 28 municipalities.
Payments began with a 20,000‑peso allocation for house cleaning and rose to over 90,000 pesos per family depending on damage level. In‑kind aid, including mattresses, stoves, refrigerators, blenders and batteries, reached more than 10,000 households through the National Defense Secretariat. Multiple agencies – the Navy, National Guard, Federal Electricity Commission, National Water Commission and Civil Protection – worked together to restore services and ensure transparent distribution.
