Ricardo Gallardo launches security operation for 9 million FENAPO visitors
Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona of San Luis Potosí inaugurated Operativo FENAPO 2026, a comprehensive security plan aimed at protecting more than 9 million visitors expected at the Feria Nacional Potosina from 7 to 30 August. The operation integrates surveillance, traffic management, civil protection and emergency response, involving over 1,500 personnel from the State Guard, the Fiscalía, municipal police, health services, the National Guard and other agencies. Its goal is to ensure safe mobility and zero criminal incidents for locals and tourists alike.
In parallel, the governor introduced four AI‑enabled robot dogs to assist in reconnaissance and patrol of high‑traffic zones within the fairgrounds. These robotic units can access difficult areas, transmit real‑time video and data to command centers, and support human officers in risk assessment and crowd control, enhancing the overall safety infrastructure for the event.
